SLC result poor; sees increase in grace marks

The results are out for SLC examination often labeled as the ‘Iron Gate’. And the numbers shows that more then half of the students failed this years’ examination. The poor number of pass rate is slightly higher then last year but not as good as expected as so so many students failed to get though the so called ‘Iron Gate’. Pass rate, this year is also suspected to have increased due to increase in grace marks from previous 5. Students failing in two subjects are provided grace marks to get them just past the touch line (pass marks).

However, the poor pass rate of just 44% (in regular, rounded) and 10% (in partial, rounded) shows a poor quality of education system of the nation. Something need to be done of this before things go from bad to worse.

Best of luck for future endeavors to the students passing the examination. And to the ones failing to get through, prepare the best you can for the next opportunity next year and prove the odds wrong by getting a cent percentage pass rate. All the very best from our side to all the students. Don’t loose your hope and hang your head high and do your best.
